UMEDA ON ISHIDA:
Annoying kid, but a kid, and thus pretty okay when he's not being annoying. On the one hand, had a stick up his butt about healing shinigami. On the other hand, laughed when Umeda made fun of Ryuuken's tie. So, sort of evens out.
UMEDA ON MAL:
Umeda just luuuuuuuuurves Mal. Mal's funny, not exactly nice, willing to joke around about sex, and generally a great guy to hang with. Umeda firmly considers Mal one of his buddies. That said, although he jokes about it a lot, Umeda's really not into Mal physically -- Umeda's type is generally pretty-faced guys and guys who are different on the outside and the inside. (ie, seem to be nice guys but are SOCIOPATHIC; seem to be nice and cute but are MANIPULATIVE AND A BIT STALKERY). Mal's not unattractive, and Umeda will notice this, and if the option were open and Mal were interested Umeda probably wouldn't say NO, but he's not 'into' Mal that way and so joking about it's even easier; he figures Mal knows that much. Mal noticing the hickey omg embarrassed him, and the fact he's pretty sure Mal NOTICED he got embarrassed over something he normally wouldn't be -- well, embarrassed him more. Because he's worried Mal thinks he 'likes' Akiha. XD

HAKKAI ON SORATA
Nice enough young man, offered to trade recipes. Sorata is tentatively filed away under 'possible housewife to gossip with', but they've not interacted much.
HAKKAI ON MAL
...I don't think they've talked, really.
HAKKAI ON ISHIDA
I could write a novel.
INSTEAD, I will summarize to say: Hakkai really likes Ishida, genuinely, and considers Ishida one of 'his' people. If Ishida got hurt, he wouldn't care too much (unless it was torture or something) but WOULD patch him up. If Ishida got killed, he'd be ...annoyed but since Ishida gets killed and respawns regularly, he can hold that back. He would protect Ishida if the option came up in the heat of battle, but doesn't feel he 'has' to.
Ishida also reminds him that he's a horrible monster living a life of sins he can never atone for, and Hakkai likes that.
He also ...Ishida's the person he's come closest to projecting on to, and sometimes I worry about my characterization there because Hakkai canonically is NOT given to projecting himself onto people -- but rather projecting KANAN on to people. That said... They were similar when young, and have similar approaches to problems, and both tend to ritualize, and then there's the demon killing thing, and THEN Ishida brought up the suicide thing, and well. Hakkai has a lot of personal sympathy for Ishida. ...also they're both dorks.
That said, Ishida is a hard-edged irritable jerk, and Hakkai likes that about him too but isn't above falling victim to it at times. XD And he knows -- the same way he knows about Sanzo -- that too much friendship is something the other wants, so he doesn't try to play it up. Besides, he does think Ishida still thinks of him as the Despicable Other, at least on some level, so he's content with that.
